Chocolate Mousse Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box Keebler fudge cookies, crumbled
  • ½ stick butter
  • 12 oz chocolate chips
  • 1 tbl instant coffee
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup hot water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ tsp cream of tartar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3- ½ pints whipping cream

Steps

  1. Melt ½ stick butter and mix with cookies. Put in spring form on sides and bottom.
  2. Melt chocolate chips. Dissolve coffee in hot water. Mix chocolate, coffee, and sugar in double boiler. Cool.
  3. Add 4 egg yolks and mix. Beat 4 egg whites with ½ tsp cream of tartar and ½ cup sugar.
  4. Beat whipping cream. Put chocolate into cream. Fold all into egg whites. Freeze.
  5. Defrost 4 hours before and put small layer of chipped cream on top. Grate chocolate on top.
